Celebrations, Braves vs. Marlins, and some pool time made for the best weekend.
It’s been so nice having my mom in town with us for a few days. We were finally able to celebrate Mother’s Day and her birthday Friday night at J. Alexander’s. I don’t know how I made it this far in life without ever having the chocolate cake for dessert, but OMG it was so good! I’ve been dreaming about it ever since!
Saturday morning, I took my mom to breakfast at The Diner before we did a quick run through Publix. Tray stayed at the house and was able to unpack a few more boxes and get our closet a bit more organized. Honestly, thank goodness he did that because I’ve hit a wall when it comes to unpacking boxes.
That afternoon, Tray and I drove down to Miami for the Braves vs. Marlins game. We stopped in the Leica store on Miracle Mile first and then went to Wynwood to get the best burritos under the sun from The Taco Stand. This was our second time eating there, and it did not disappoint. The California burrito is my favorite, and it has French fries instead of rice (so good)!
I’ve never been a huge baseball fan; I don’t have a team a root for or anything like that. (I prefer the NBA.) But I do enjoy the snacks and music that come with any sporting event. So, I had fun at the game and I’m so glad the Braves won since Tray is a lifelong fan.
The three of us went to Brooklyn Water Bagel for Sunday breakfast. After that, we did a quick Trader Joe’s run, picked up some fish from Captain Clay’s and we found a fun, local market next door. Mom and I spent the rest of the day reading our books by the pool before we had dinner.
4 Items I’m Loving This Week
- Embellished Green Headband: This $20 headband is now my go-to hair acessesory. I love wearing it with a casual outfit (think white t-shirt and denim shorts). It’s extremely comfortable on my head all day, stays put, and doesn’t feel heavy or give me a headache. I want to order this pink headband next.
- Gold Block Heels: I recently joined the Sarah Flint brand ambassador team and did receive these shoes as a gift for joining, however, I have been eyeing them for so long. I know the price point made it hard for me to purchase them, so I completely understand that these aren’t in everyone’s budget. If you are looking for the most comfortable high heel that you can work in all day or dance in all night, then I do seriously recommend ordering a pair. If you use my code SARAHFLINT-BAERIKAB, you’ll receive $50 off your first pair of shoes.
- Clarins Tinted Sunscreen: I have been wearing this tinted sunscreen every day for the past week, and I am blown away by how good it is. The coverage is way more impressive than a standard tinted sunscreen’s coverage, but it’s super lightweight on the skin and wears well all day. Also, I don’t know what it is, but I love the small of Clarins products.
- Floral Midi Dress: This summer, I am all about floral dresses, and this midi length dress is so adorable. I love how breezy and light it looks. I’m definitely going to order it. I can see this working as a sundress with a denim jacket and sandals, over a bathing suit, or as a post-shower lounge dress for a low-key Sunday.
