We needed a nice, long holiday weekend to rest and recharge. Plus, we explored some fun places in the Palm Beaches and the Everglades.
Whew! I didn’t know how much I needed a long weekend, but I’m so grateful we had it.
Thank you to everyone who has served and continues to serve this great nation of ours, and to everyone we have lost—you will never be forgotten.
We had a four-day weekend in the Palm Beaches, which is honestly exactly what I needed.
Friday
Our washer and dryer were finally delivered Friday morning, and I have never been so excited to do laundry. (If you ever need to buy appliances in the Palm Beach area, we cannot recommend Rosner’s enough.) I’ll admit, we have been spoiled being able to use Sudshare (you’ll receive $10 off your first load by clicking the link) for our laundry the past month, but there’s nothing like being able to throw in a load of laundry first thing in the morning.
After the delivery, I drove down to West Boca to the Buff City Soap to get some new laundry soap. They ran a buy one get one 50% off sale over Memorial Day weekend, so I picked up two different scented laundry soaps—Narcissist and Magnolia. I also purchased a pack of wool dryer balls in the Narcissist scent.
If you haven’t heard of Buff City, it’s a newer bath and soap company that focuses on plant-based, simple ingredients, no harsh chemicals, and the products are made right in the store.
I also did a quick spin through the mall for some returns before meeting a friend for lunch.
She took me to Larb Isan in Ft. Lauderdale, which is an amazing Thai restaurant. We ordered so many amazing things, but we both couldn’t stop raving about the calamari.
Then, we went to a designer handbag consignment shop, Couture Upscale Consign, to see all the beautiful handbags.
Saturday
We went down to the Everglades on Saturday, so we could enjoy it before summer kicks in. We had perfect weather! No one got bit by mosquitoes, and we saw an alligator and an American crocodile.
Then we stopped at Robert Is Here on the way home. It’s referred to as the Disney World of produce stands. And that’s truly the best description of it.
Sunday
Tray and I were supposed to see Dave Matthews Band Sunday evening, but the concert got canceled because someone tested positive for COVID-19. So, we went up to the Gardens Mall instead. I tried on some straight-leg jeans at Madewell and returned a pair that I ordered online because they were too baggy in the hips for me.
We had an early dinner at Ta-boo Sunday night. It was so quiet in Palm Beach, it felt like we had the restaurant to ourselves.
The menu at Ta-boo is so good, which means we struggle to decide what to get. So, we like to order appetizers and try as many things as possible. We ordered the black bean chili, shrimp cocktail, spicy tuna roll, the hummus plate, the kale and Manchego salad, and the salmon pizza.
Monday
We spent Memorial Day by the pool, then had dinner at Loch Bar. We also learned that Monday at Loch Bar is $10 off lobster rolls. Tray and I typically go there Friday or Saturday nights, but I think we’re be going during the week from now on for the deals!

Let’s get into the four items I’m loving this week:

- Farm Rio Midi Dress: I just ordered this dress while Farm Rio had a sale going, but you’ll get 15% off your first order if you’ve never shopped with them before.
- The Homewreckers: I love every book by Mary Kay Andrews, and I started her newest book over the holiday weekend.
- Pink Embellished Head band: I’m on an embellished head band kick. I love how comfortable and cute these are!
- Santal Essential Oil: I love Young Living oils, but sometimes I want something that smells a little more sophisticated without having to burn a candle all day, so I love this Santal scented essential oil for those days.
