We've found a really good balance in our weekends. We devote enough time to get house tasks done, so we feel like we're moving forward. And we're also intentional about exploring and having fun, too.
First, let me start by saying, if you live in the Palm Beach area, I found myself in the absolute best Publix of all time—the PBI location. I was greeted by the most beautiful orchids of all colors and sizes in the entry. Then, I found myself in a better floral department than anything I’ve ever seen! I found a greenery bundle and white hydrangeas and made a $23 bouquet that I want to recreate again and again. Plus, the Amaranth vase I just got from Amazon is now my favorite!
On Friday, we also got my car serviced in West Palm. We drove over to Rosner’s Appliances while we waited on my car to finish. We originally ordered a washer and dryer from Lowe’s before we moved into our new house and we knew we would have to wait until the second week of June for the appliances to arrive. Well, we ended up canceling our Lowe’s order and selected new ones while at Rosner’s. We also selected all the new appliances for our new kitchen, so we could provide the dimensions to our contractor.
After all of that, we had a celebratory dinner at Okeechobee Steakhouse to celebrate my first ever viral video.
A locksmith came on Saturday to add a new Nest lock to the front door and to re-core all our deadbolts. Tray and I had lunch at Howley’s and then he went to a coin shop and we spent some time on Antique Row. Y’all, I have never seen so many vintage Pucci pieces in one place, and it was heaven!
We had oysters, conch fritters, and a lobster roll (plus wine) for dinner at Loch Bar Saturday night. Then treated ourselves to paletas for dessert.
Sunday, we both wanted bagels for breakfast, so we went back to our tried and true Brooklyn Water Bagel. Then, I did a Target run for some things we needed to add to our guest bedroom and bathroom before we have a wave of guests come to town this next week through the beginning of June.
We picked up some fresh fish from Captain Clay’s to grill for dinner. Tray had the most amazing piece of cobia and I got some salmon. While Tray grilled, I boiled some Trader Joe’s cheese tortellini and then lightly tossed it with olive oil and some garlic salt. It was the best light, but filling dinner. We topped off our evening with ice cream from The Ice Cream Affair.
Here are the four things I’m loving this week!

Lots of house items on my favorites list this week, and one random pair of denim shorts that I love so much, I got it in three washes.
- Amaranth Vase: Amazon served this vase up to me the other day and as soon as I saw how it worked, I ordered it. This vase makes it super easy for you to maintain your beautiful blooms because it untwists and gives you access to trim stems, and you can drain out old water so you can add fresh water to the vase. It’s already made a huge difference for my hydrangeas! I ordered the small first and loved it so much that I also ordered the large.
- High-rise Denim Shorts: I have been on the hunt for denim shorts I love. I like high-rise denim across the board, but I like a little less stretch in my denim shorts than I do my jeans. So, I ordered a pair of these high-rise denim shorts, and now have them in black and white denim, too. I ordered my true size because I like a more relaxed fit in denim shorts.
- Edge Wine Glass: Tray and I love to add more modern elements to our home, so when I saw how clean and sleek the lines were on the edge wine glasses, I knew we would love them. I hand-wash ours because I don’t want to test them in the dishwasher that was in the house when we moved in. I also make sure we set these on the counter to the side of the sink instead of in the sink—that way something can’t accidentally fall on them in the sink and break the stems. I purchased six and it feels like enough for us, but I also feel like you should have a set of twelve even though I don’t ever see having twelve people in our house at once.
- Soft Square Dinnerware Set: In keeping with a more sleek, modern style, I also ordered us some plain white dinnerware. I found one of the only sets that didn’t include coffee cups (because that’s the last thing we need to add to our cabinets). Plus, these were on major sale! I ordered two sets, so we have service for twelve.
