Four years ago, I purchased the newly (at the time) released Rifle Paper Co. 5-Year Journal and ever since, I’ve loved starting a new one every January first. I’m not the most diligent about journaling every single day, but I did always manage to keep up with it when I had a lot going on.
How I Use It
Now, I’ve learned to just bullet point journal notes in this one as an anthology of the year more so than using it for anything else. I also use the front pages to record the books I read that year, and happy moments I always want to remember, and love that all those special things are right at the front of the journal and I don’t even have to flip through to find monumental celebrations.
This year, I just cracked the spine on journal number four, and so far I’ve been able to jot down some bulleted notes for each day — it’s one of my resolutions so I guess I’m doing good for six days into the year.
The other day I actually wondered if Rifle Paper Co. would ever release this set again because year five was staring me in the face.

2021 Journal Set Release
I decided to pop over to Rifle Paper Co.’s website this evening and saw the five-year journal is back — and with an updated color palette! So, I immediately added to my cart and checked out. Last time, this five-year set sold out fast, so I didn’t want to miss out on the updated version — that will give me a decade of journaling. WOW!
If you love recording the small moments from your everyday life, this set is a fantastic way to do that. Each day gets a half-page, so if you get overwhelmed by the sight of a big empty page, this format is for you.
What I Write Down
Most days I tend to focus my list on a short gratitude list, anything upside down in the world at the time, what we had for dinner, and any of the other small moments from daily life.
I record big life moments when those happen, too.
